CNC machine building should be easy when you start out and it can be. CNC routers, milling machines, and plasma table are a perfect Do it Yourself Project for everybody. The technology is affordable and there are plenty of free resources around. CNC Routers, Mini Mills and Lathes can be easily built and upgraded as your skills increase. We will discuss the options available to most people at their different skill levels. We will also be trying to build a $75.00 CNC Mini Milling Machine project.

$75 CNC Mini Mill Parts Machined
We have some of our Mini Mill parts machined. We will need some time to get the larger pieces of material in to produce the frame side pieces but we will push forward. Stay tuned.
In 2010, I was able to do it minus the stepper motors, router spindle and mount. I can probably still do it today. You have to know where to buy your materials as cheap as possible.

I used HDPE for the man components like the side plates, top plates and end plates. The linear rods are hand polished cold rolled steel. If you go to your local plastic supply place they usually have some damaged pieces you can buy and fabricate your machine from them at a reduced cost.
